CORPORATE IRRESPONSIBILITY CAMPAIGN 2024-26
In February 2024, Bite Back launched a new 3-year campaign designed to highlight the performance of the UK’s biggest food companies, to use that data to tell a new story about our food system and mobilise support for Government and Big Food to take action to transform our food system.
It aims to drive three changes:
Drive a minimum of 10 strategic commitments to child health and planetary health from the largest food businesses in the UK;
Build support for a new Government to implement and go further on unhealthy food marketing restrictions in 2025 into outdoor, brand, packaging and sustainability marketing;
Build wider support from the public, media and influencer audiences for action on human and planetary health.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
At Bite Back, we are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and open environment where every team member feels valued and empowered. We focus as much on how and who we work with as what we campaign on. We believe that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is a key enabler to achieving our mission and addressing healthy equity.
We're committed to removing barriers and encourage and model inclusive behaviours, striving always to be authentic, fair, and open-minded. We hold ourselves—and one another—accountable for upholding the highest standards of diversity, equity, and inclusion. When we don’t get it right, we reflect, learn, and take action.
Our Extended Leadership Team (ELT) - introduced last year - brings together a rich mix of experiences, attributes, and perspectives that reflect the breadth of our wider team. Their presence has strengthened our collective leadership and helped embed a culture where different voices and lived experiences are respected and elevated.
The true magic of Bite Back shines brightest when our young, diverse changemakers are in the spotlight. We provide them with tailored mentorship and champion their voices in progressive, youth-led spaces. They thrive when heard, trusted, and supported. We’re focused on making DEI a part of our everyday culture—not just a one-off initiative. This includes more inclusive team events, more accessible communications and materials, and continued investment in DEI training and leadership advocacy.
